Cameo Apples and Apple Cheddar Bread Recipe

The Cameo is highly sought after late season apple. Its crisp, sweet flavor is definitely a fan favorite. It also is slow to brown which is great for lunches and apple salads.

Approximate Ripening Date: October 8th

Flavor: Firm and Crisp with a highly appealing subacidic, aromatic flavor. Some may find the flavor brighter with a hint of lemon, but with pear overtones.

Baking: The Cameo cooks down into a smoother sauce and maintains a sweet with slight tangy flavor.

History: Chance seedling found in Washington in 1980. Possibly a Red Delicious x Golden Delicious cross.
