With September upon us it doesn't only mean back-to-school but also that fall fun begins! We love having so many folks visit us but we all know it's nice to be able to stop at more than one spot if you're heading out to the country. There are a surprising number of fun agritourism-esque spots to visit either before or after your stop to the orchard! Here's a summary of the ones you can add to your visit!

Goose Pond Homestead
This is an adorable farm stand located on the idyllic Goose Pond Road in Poynette. The stand is run on an honor system and each week you can find a variety of seasonal produce, fresh cut flowers, farm eggs, home baked bread and more. This is a must stop when you're in Poynette! Check out their website and facebook page for more info and find out how you can pre-order bread!
Doherty Family Farm Market
While the Doherty Family Farm isn't new - their on farm shop is! They have recently renovated a building on their property to create a market store! They are open on Saturday's from 10-12 and Tuesday evenings from 5-7. They have their meats; beef, chicken, pork as well as other local items, sassy cow, royal Guernsey butter, organic pasture eggs, produce and much more. They also have a small kids play area as well! Softball and now apple season has prevented me from getting out to see their new place but I've heard nothing but amazing things about it PLUS we know the owners and they're pretty darn cool.
Rock N Wool Winery
You may notice when you visit the Winery Website that the owners have the same last name as us! Well - it turns out they are our cousins! They have converted the family sheep farm into a beautiful winery that is great for sipping on wine (my favorite is Quilt!) and conversing with family and friends. There are also many special events so be sure to check out this page and mark your calendars!
Creek Bed Country Farmacy
Creek Bed Country Farmacy is a fabulous agritourism farm just a few miles north of the orchard. They have seasonal offerings including summer strawberry picking, peach picking, sunflower fields and of course, the corn maze and pumpkin patch. Later in September they'll open up their fantastic corn maze, playground and pumpkin patch! It's a place you spend the whole day with the family at!
Wells Farm
Another amazing family farm that raises premium beef and pork is just a few miles east of the orchard and is called Wells Farm. While they don't have scheduled open hours they do offer tours/on farm shopping by appointment. Wells Farm also offer home delivery and they regularly attend the farmer's markets in Sun Prairie and on Monroe Street.
As you can see, there are some great places out in this area and shopping at them is going to support some fantastic local families and small businesses!
Let me know if you found this post helpful! I was thinking about doing one sharing places you can eat/drink around the area next.
