Writer: Kim LapacekKim Lapacek

Approximate Ripening Date: September 22nd

Flavor: Pleasantly sweet with a mildly subacid flavor. Thicker skin. Not a great keeper.

Baking: Keeps shape when baked. Benefits from other apple varieties mixed in to create a more complex flavor.

History: Duchess Oldenburg x Starking Delicious cross created in North Dakota introduced in 1980. The first Hazen trees were planted in 2006 at Lapacek's Orchard.
