Flavor: Fresh picked, this apple is hard and tart, but Arkansas Black gets better with long-term storage. Save it until Christmas and it’s a sweet, juicy, tender apple with a unique flavor profile.

Baking: Fresh, it holds its shape - great for frying or pie making. After mellowing, it’s best to savor as a delicious dessert apple. Down South, this is a pie-baking favorite and it juices well into cider.
