The Golden Supreme is a newer variety to our orchard and it's quickly becoming a customer favorite.
Approximate Ripening Date: Mid-September
Flavor: This crisp apple has a sweet, juicy flavor with very little acidity.
Baking: Slow to brown when cut. Great option for dried apples. It will keep its shape when baked in pies or make a chunky applesauce.
History: Parentage is unknown

Autumn Apple Cake

1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
3 cups apples, diced & peeled
Mix all the above ingredients, folding in apples last. Pour into greased and floured 8x8 inch pan.
For topping: mix 1/4 c chopped nuts, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 2 T sugar. Sprinkle on top of batter.
Bake at 350-degrees for 40 minutes.
